They had a gorgeous ceremony in the garden, followed by family portraits and bridal party photos (see the guest stars, including a dog that jumped into the fountain while we were shooting there and another wedding group that popped by). After the wedding was over, they both said that was their favorite part of the day. They saw & held each other there, and took in a sweet moment together, before walking up to get married. We chose a beautiful willow tree next to the lake, tucked away from all of the guests. Once we arrived at the Delaware Park Rose Garden, even though the ceremony was running a bit behind, both Kathryn & Otello said they just needed to see each other before anything else. Kathryn has to win an award for one of my most low-key brides ever I asked her if she needed anything as they were getting ready, and she handed me the bottom of her mother’s old wedding dress & asked if I wouldn’t mind just cutting a bit of lace off it to wrap around her bouquet… (I think I had a panic attack as I took the first snip thankfully it came out great!) I loved all of the details K&O chose, from the yellow shoes to her brilliant blue ring, and the gorgeous Lipinoga Florist orchids. From the moment that I walked into the girls’ adorable Airbnb Allentown cottage & saw them relaxing in hammocks, with mimosas in hand, I knew it was going to be a beautiful day. I will feature more in future posts including the magnificent grand churches, cathedrals and basilicas another day.Kathryn & Otello… Where do I even begin!? These two just radiate such a FUN, lovable energy. We’ve just scratched the surface of the many historical structures used today in Buffalo Wedding photography. It was also originally the First Church of Christ, Scientist built in 1911.

The one featured in this photo with Karen and Jimmy in on the corner of North and Elmwood. The Karpeles Manuscript Library houses the largest private collection of manuscripts and documents in the world. Inside these historical landmarks also make for interesting imagery. The grain elevators at Riverworks at the inner harbor stand proudly behind our bride Alyssa. Today they have become a popular backdrop for wedding couples who appreciate our industrial past. Over thirty concrete grain elevators located along the inner and outer harbors of the Buffalo River and Lake Erie. Buffalo had the largest capacity for storage of grain in the nation by the turn of the 20th century. With the construction of the Erie Canal complete in 1825 Buffalo soon became a major grain port. Here is Lindsay and Mark in a sexy pose against the columns at the top of the stairs. On any given Saturday in the Summer you can find an endless row of limousines parked in the back. Today it is the single most popular location for wedding photography. However, construction delays caused it to remain uncompleted until 1905. The Albright-Knox Art Gallery was originally intended to be the fine arts pavilion for the 1901 Pan-American Exposition. The scenery adds a special quality to each image. The first picture is with Lindsey and Chris at the Butler mansion. It has a 19th century European vibe to me. I love to shoot on the grounds of the estate. Edward Butler bought the home after Williams left Buffalo in disgrace. George Williams, who built the house in 1896 chose that corner because it was considered the most prestigious corner in Buffalo at the time. It sits at the corner of Delaware Avenue and North Street.

The stately mansions they lived in still stand today. At that time Buffalo was thriving as an important port city, the sixth largest in America. Many of the buildings and structures we are blessed to shoot in and around date back to the nineteenth century. The city provides such a rich history in architecture.
